Joy Spring Mental Health is a private practice dedicated to providing excellent, holistic mental healthcare to adults in North Carolina. We believe in unrushed, whole-person care that integrates therapy and medication management. Our approach is rooted in evidence-based therapeutic modalities including ACT, IFS, DBT, CBT, DNMS, and Brainspotting.

The Role
We’re seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who shares our commitment to exceptional patient care and believes that good medicine takes time. This position offers the rare opportunity to practice the way you were trained to practice, with appointments that give you the time and space to truly connect with your patients.
What makes this role different:
- Unrushed appointments – 1 hour for intakes, 30 minutes to 1 hour for therapy and medication management follow-ups
- Integrated care – provide both therapy and medication management to the same patients
- Paid administrative time – because documentation and care coordination matter
- Administrative support – including AI documentation tools and an easy-to-use EHR platform (we use Charm), admin assistant will manage PAs, referrals, etc.
- Therapy skill building – training and support provided if you’re looking to strengthen your therapy skills
- Flexible schedule – hybrid position with in-person requirements of at least 1 day per week
- Sustainable full-time – 30 hours per week of clinical work with benefits
Location & Schedule
- Locations: Boone, West Jefferson, or Hendersonville, NC
- Schedule: Flexible hybrid model with at least 1 in-person day per week
- Patient population: Adults in North Carolina, multi-state license a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and intakes
- Provide ongoing therapy and medication management to adult patients
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities in treatment planning
- Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, including Spravato-training provided
- Collaborate with practice owner and team members on patient care
- Complete clinical documentation using our EHR system
- Participate in continuing education and professional development
Qualifications
Required:
- Active PMHNP certification
- North Carolina nursing license
- DEA license
- Commitment to excellent, holistic patient care
- Strong clinical skills in both therapy and medication management
Ideal candidate:
- Lifelong learner with curiosity and passion for growth
- Prior experience with Charm EHR (a plus, but not required)
- Interest in integrative and holistic approaches to mental health
- Comfortable with technology and AI-assisted documentation tools
- Values quality over quantity in patient care
Compensation & Benefits
- Ramp-up period: Hourly pay for completed encounters as you build your caseload, marketing support provided
