Therapy Intensives

It’s time for Radical Healing

What is a therapy intensive?

Therapy intensives are a way to streamline the recovery process. By scheduling a therapy intensive, you can do the equivalent of more than a month of traditional therapy work in one day! This allows you to hone on in on what matters most to you so we can dive “deep” and see faster results. Many clients find this a more efficient and effective way to do therapy.

What is treated in a therapy intensive?

Therapy intensives are customized to the individual client.
We will discuss your unique needs and create a plan that works for your goals.
Common concerns people address during their intensive include:
  • Childhood trauma
  • Burnout
  • Career and academic discernment
  • Attachment wounds
  • Relationship challenges
  • Areas where you feel “stuck”
  • Emotional reactivity
  • Performance ceilings
  • Unwanted behaviors
  • Recent trauma
  • Pregnancy and childbirth trauma
  •  Poor self-esteem
  • Emotional reactivity
  • OCD
  • ADHD
  • Life transitions
  • Anxiety
  • Financial mindset

Not sure if intensive therapy is right for you? Schedule a consulation call so we can discuss your unique needs.

Convenience
Intensives are perfect for clients with busy schedules who are ready to feel better now. By setting aside a block of time to focus in on a particular concern, you can expect that you will see more progress in a shorter time frame. This may ultimately mean less time in distress, less time away from work, and more time living the life you want to have.
Cost

Therapy intensives are custom tailored to your goals. These sessions are offered at an hourly rate. Insurance does not cover this service but may allow it to be applied toward your out-of-network deductible with a Superbill. Please check with your insurance company.

  • M-F 7am-2pm $300/hr (minimum 3 hour block)
  • Evening hours $400/hr (3 hour block)
  • Weekends-$450/hr (minimum 3 hour block)

Please note that my evening and weekend hours fill quickly. You may not schedule more than 6 hours per day with a 1 hour break. All intensives must be approved by the provider after a free 15 minute consultation call.

What does an intensive look like?

This depends on your needs. During your intake session (60 minutes for new clients and 30 minutes for established clients), we will determine the focus and goals of your intensive, how many hours you should schedule, and discuss the modalities that may be most helpful for your work. I will pull from a variety of therapeutic modalities as needed to make sure that we are able to make progress in achieving your goals.

Intensives are currently offered virtually only for clients in NC or VA. Clients who reside outside these states who are interested in my services, may reach out to discuss treatment options. You will need to be in NC or VA at the time of your service. Modalities that may be included are acceptance and commitment therapy, internal family systems, developmental needs meeting strategy, Brainspotting and others as needed.

I am so excited to work with you! Therapy intensives are one of my favorite ways to help clients on their recovery journey. I believe in meeting clients where they are and offering a wide range of services so that clients can achieve success when we work together. I find that when clients have found themselves stuck in therapy or when they have tried medications without success, therapy intensives can be a radically healing part of their care. My goal is for you to feel welcome, safe, and whole and for you to reach your treatment goals. I am honored to be included in your healing journey.

FAQ

We will determine this together during your consultation call and intake appointment depending on your needs, goals, and scheduling availability.
Some clients choose to do intensive work rather than individual therapy and many clients will continue their individual therapy during and after their intensives.
If your insurance includes out-of-network benefits, you may receive partial reimbursement for your sessions. Please check with your insurance to see if you have an out-of-network deductible and coverage and if your plan will cover multiple therapy sessions in the same day.
You must be located in NC or VA at the time of your service. Currently, these services are offered virtually only. Some clients prefer to travel to a relaxing location in NC or VA to have their sessions. If you are local and prefer to have an in-person intensive, this must be scheduled in advance and additional charges may apply. This can be discussed further during your free 15 minute consultation call.
Great question! I have extensive experience working with clients with a variety of symptoms and complex trauma. Intensive refers to the scheduling and the focus of the processing. It is a misconception that trauma processing has to be painful to be effective. In your intake session, we will discuss your goals and any concerns you may have about this type of processing. I will be very attentive and attuned to your needs during your session to make sure that you are safe, in control, and within your window of tolerance.
Clients who are acutely manic or experiencing psychotic symptoms will need stabilization first. Clients who do not have emotion regulation skills and respond to distress with self-injurious behaviors will need to do this work first or focus on these patterns as the primary concern for their intensive. Clients in active substance abuse who cannot be sober for their session or clients with restrictive eating patterns who need a higher level of care will need stabilization before beginning intensive work.
I do not currently have openings for individual therapy but I will help you find a therapist that will be a good fit.
No. If you are ready and interested in intensive therapy, I will make sure that you are prepared in your intake seession.
I do not currently have openings for medication management but I will help you find a prescriber that will be a good fit.
If you plan to submit a Superbill for out-of-network benefits, I will be required to provide a diagnosis. Otherwise, assessment and diagnosis (if desired),will be provided in your intake session.
Of course! I will have you sign a release of information so I can communicate with your therapist as needed.
No provider can make this claim and I would suggest that you be very cautious if a provider is making these claims about any modality. That said, I am committed to your full recovery and helping you achieve your goals. I anticipate that you will experience significant breakthroughs in our work together. A realistic expectation is that you will experience profound healing and significant progress toward building foundational stability.
No. In fact, modalities like Brainspotting do not require talking at all.
